The Draft Road Maintenance Program outlines the road maintenance activities we have planned each fiscal year. The program is focused on preventative maintenance. Preventative road maintenance saves tax dollars. It costs less to repair roads than to rebuild them.

Highlights of the Draft FY 2024-25 Road Maintenance Program include:

  • 11.34 miles of chip seal pavement repair performed by LUT crews
  • 5.29 miles of paving performed by LUT crews
  • 4.55 miles of paving done by contractors
  • 4 major culvert replacements
  • 4 culvert replacements performed by LUT crews
  • 250 miles of sweeping bike lanes, shoulders and riparian management areas
  • 1,800 miles of clearing and trimming roadside vegetation

The draft plan includes most of the proposed work for our road crews and contractors. Additional resources are available for unexpected events like emergencies, road service requests or unplanned needs. Work is funded by the County Road Fund.

When drafting the program, we incorporate feedback from internal and external stakeholders, including the general public, the Rural Road Operations and Maintenance Advisory Committee and the Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee. Your comments will help us create the final project list.

The final Road Maintenance Program will go to the Board of County Commissioners for action.
